Beauty Army June and July 2012

This month I decided to opt out for my June  and July kits from Beauty Army. So this post won’t have any of my “fantastic” photos or a write up about products… lol

The reason for skipping the past 2 months? Well I have so many great samples from all my BOXES from all the MANY subscription services, and only so much skin! So over the summer I’m cutting back where I can, so I can give each product a chance and hopefully write a few more product reviews rather than box haul reviews.

What I will say about the skip a month process is that Beauty Army makes it fairly easy to do. I skipped my June kit, and since it’s an automatic withdrawal, after the 5 day selection period was over, my $12 was quickly refunded to me. I really can’t say enough great things about Beauty Army and their customer service. I sent an email just to make sure I did everything right when  skipping and got a very prompt and friendly response! I like that, I like that a LOT! I just skipped the July kit, so I already know the drill.

So if you’re new to the box subscription services, there are a lot of them to choose from. I would definitely give Beauty Army a try, it’s only $12 a month! Follow my referral link to get started  https://beautyarmy.com/account/registration/?referral_id=ef28fec648cbce9e1b399de3d7d7dc15

Month 5 of our Little Passports has Sam and Sophie traveling to ancient EGYPT.

Our kit included a letter and photo from Sam and Sophia, our luggage tag/boarding pass, “passport sticker” stamp, our blue pin for our world map, and an excavation kit of a mini pyramid!

Lizzy was really excited about the excavation kit, knowing that there was a hidden artifact inside!!

Julep -February 2012-  IT GIRL

colors:

Rachel  -  This is a warm rich copper shimmer.  2 coats and it’s super rich looking. Not too orangy, almost a whisper of burgundy. It’s super pretty, and I’m usually not a fan of coppery colors, but this one I like!

Oscar  -  Ultra chic, multi-dimensional gold glitter.  2 coats and my nails are so sparkly just like Oscar himself. The glitter is small and like most glitter polishes, they feel a bit textured, until you put a top coat on!

Elizabeth  -  Midnight blue with a hint of shimmer.  2 coats and it’s dreamy!  This is my daughter’s name and I’m all for dark nail polishes, so this is right up my alley. The color is like the mid-night sky, dark almost blue-black with a kiss of shimmer. So elegant!

Also in this box I received a cute Oscar chocolate. I don’t know many people that would pass up a chocolate, do you?

Beauty Army February 2012

Hello Beautiful… Have you heard of Beauty Army?

They just recently launched on 1 January 2012 here in the US. For just $12 a month you get to choose 4-6 deluxe samples to be shipped to your home. There’s usually skincare and a little color to choose from every month.

To try them out click the link https://www.beautyarmy.com/  Currently they are working on a referral program.

So this month here’s what I chose to try out:

Pssssst!  -instant dry shampoo-  Got a 1.76oz trial size of the dry spray shampoo. It says it refreshes without water, builds volume and preserves color. Since I tend to wash my hair every other to every 3 days this is a great inbetween the days goto hair product!

Mama Mio  -Defy Gravity: Boob Tube bust and neck firmer-   This is a 1fl oz sample size. Looks to be about enough for a week - 10 days to try out the product. Been using it for a few days and I love the light fragrance it has. It feels really rich but doesn’t feel heavy going on. I feel it really penetrates the skin very well. Once I’m through this tube, I might just have to buy some more!

Indie Lee  -coconut citrus, the body scrub-  I use sugars scrubs, that being said I also know that they are relatively simple to make at home as well. My 1.6oz sample felt a bit on the dry side. I like my scrubs to have a bit more oil to them. It was nice to sample but for the 12oz fullsize at $38, I’m just not completely sold.

LaRocca  -24K Gold Cleanser Exfoliant-  This is super gentle and makes my skin feel so nice afterwards. The 1oz sample is enough to get through about 5-7 days (I’ve been using it in the am only) and it smells so nice and since it cleanses, breaks down makeup AND exfoliates - even better, this will go on my wish list!

Weleda  -Iris Hydrating Facial Lotion-  On the .17oz sample box it says it’s certified natural face care. I haven’t had a chance to try it yet— so I’ll be posting a follow up on this product review…  ;)

My Face Cosmetics  -Blingtone eye color in purple haze-  I have brown eyes and purple is my goto color when I’m looking for something a little more than natural look. I’ve used this eyeshadow on my eyes a few times now and LOVE to color. It’s like a bright amethyst tone with shimmer. Looks great on the lid OR as a liner. AND- it’s a $20 value since it’s a full size - so it definately made this month’s box worth it!

BirchBox “Welcome 2011”

I wanted to share a post about my first BirchBox box I received. Back in October 2011 began my obsession with these monthly subscription boxes/kits whatever you want to classify them- THIS was the first, the one that started my obsession with watching the mailman with a hawk eye every day.

BirchBox is a monthly subscription service that sends 4-6 deluxe samples to your home for just $10 (shipping included) and sometimes there’s even a full sized product! If you decide to try them out please use my referral link: http://www.birchbox.com?raf=i7x7z #mce_temp_url#

SO here’s a preview of what you could get if you sign up for the ever popular BrichBox… and my review of the product!

Welcome to BirchBox:

Befine -lip serum- This lip product is allergen and fragrance free and is paraben free. I got the chamomile & beet serum and is colorless and flavorless.  I use this at night, keeps my dry lips hydrated through the night (between the AC and heater that runs continuously) all in all I like this product.

blinc -mascara-  I was excited to try this product out. It’s a tubing mascara which is a new thing for me. I have naturally fully dark lashes and usually use a waterproof mascara from Dior. So here’s what I think about blinc. Pros: It is super light-weight. I mean I feel like nothing is on my lashes. It looks really natural on, and washes off very easily. Cons: I tend to touch my lashes a lot (didn’t realize it until I wore this product…) and I ended up playing with the tubes. To me it seemed to pull away from the lashes… could be because  wear contacts and used eye-drops when i was also wearing the mascara. I now wear this product only when I’m wearing my glasses!

Pangea Organics -Japanese Matcha Tea Facial Mask-  The package says it’s for all skin types and does everything (deep cleanse, detox, exfoliate, tone, hydrate, stimulate collagen, prevent wrinkles, nourish, protect and balance), from what I can tell after using this mask my skin felt really great, smooth and hydrated!

Orofluido -Beauty Elixir-  This is a product is for your hair. Let me first say that I opened the bottle and LOVED the scent, very light hint of vanilla and I was happy happy happy! Then I tried the product… LOVE IT!! It made my hair shiny and silky and it didn’t feel sticky or gunky or oily or heavy like other hair oil products have. This is something that I’ll actually be purchasing once I run out!

Tea Forte -minteas-  Got a cute tin of mints in the lime mojito flavor (nonalcoholic of course) and everyone in my family likes them. With a hint of citrus and a hint of mint, they’re all natural, sugar free and made with organic tea. I would definitely buy these cute leaf shaped mints (they come in cocoa mate, ginger pear, lemongrass yuzu, matcha chai, and lime mojito).

So I was extremely excited with my first “Welcome” BirchBox and am looking forward to what will be heading my way next!!
