I was happy to be greeted by the same hot pink mailer I’ve come to love this month. The name (my glam) may have changed, but the kits are still excellent as always.
Here’s this month’s IPSY haul:
** I’m super excited about the coastal scents eye shadow sampler. I’ve been wanting to try their eye shadows out, but I didn’t know anyone that has used it before- so this is a great little find in my IPSY bag. And that’s what it’s all about!! Getting the chance to preview and try new brands and products to see if you like them. I’ll probably do another review on the eyeshadow once I use it, so be on the look out.
Until then, if you haven’t subscribed to IPSY, do it now! It’s only 10$ a month and so far over the past 6+ months, I’ve been really happy with all the goodies I’ve received. See for yourself! There isn’t a referral code for this company, but you can get more info at http://www.ipsy.com
One of the nice things Julep offers to their Mavens is the option to order additional nail polishes from the new collection at a discount.
This month I decided to choose 2 additional colors to add to my usual monthly subscription.
The colors I bought are:
Can I just say that these are 2 of my FAVORITE Julep colors to date! I’m happy I decided to go cRaZy and get a few extras this month!
I wanted to post a pic and review of a Julep color called MARIA - I got this color in my March St. Patricks’s Day extra box.
Maria is described as a shimmering platinum rose, but I think it’s really a shiny metallic lilac-rose color. I say lilac-rose because the color is a light pinkish purple and it’s not shimmery, it’s metallic! It’s a high gloss color for sure.
With 2 coats, the color looks great and is super shiny and almost mirror like in the sunlight! I think it will be a great summer color. Can’t wait to wear this at the beach.

I’m getting ready for summer! Even though I live in Florida and pretty much live in flip flops, during the winter months my feet tend to get a little dry.
BUT… this month I got a great little product in my Julep Maven box and I was extremely excited to try it out!
So here are my cute feet painted in Julep’s Eva polish and I have to say that this color is my favorite one so far. It screams summertime and with my lime green flip flops, it really looks super pretty.
But the product I was most excited to try from this month’s box was The Best Pedi Creme Ever. Since I do my own “at home” manis and pedis I’m always looking for salon quality products that deliver. And I’m loving The Best Pedi Creme Ever - so much that I think it’s perfectly named. This foot cream contains shea butter and coconut oil to hydrate, gently exfoliates with alpha hydroxy acids and nourishes skin with vitamin E and other essential oils. My tired feet feel soothed every time I use it and they smell so pretty. The fragrance is a light cucumber mint. This is on my wish list, it’s that good!

My March 2012 American Beauty box from Julep, had some pretty nice things. Emphasis on the word pretty!
Julep Elixir Organic Moroccan Argan Oil - $24 Argan Oil is great for your skin, hands, nails and hair. It’s really light-weight and does a fantastic job at repairing and improving over all skin and hair health.
Julep Nail Color in
Julep Emory Board - Great for on the go, I leave mine in my car!
Are you feelin’ lucky? Well, I sure am. I might not have gotten the “big $200 box” from Julep’s St. Patrick’s Box extra this month, but I think I have the luck o’ the Irish on my side.
This month, Julep offered an additional surprise box to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. For $19.99 subscribers were guaranteed to receive a minimum of $60 in the green Julep box.
This is my first time an “extra box” has been available, so of course I HAD to get one! Everything was neatly packaged in the trendy black Julep cosmetic bag. I think the style and shape of the bag is really cute, and it’s well made, so I’m going to throw it into my Coach bag and use it as a make up bag! winwin ;)
In this haul I received:
The Julep crystal nail file - This is my first experience with the crystal file, I like it and Lizzy liked that it didn’t make that “scary sound” the metal files make.
Julep Everyday SPF 30 Hand Cream - a non-greasy hand cream, that’s unscented and has SPF 30 (protects hands from UVA and UVB sun damage)
Julep Essential Cuticle Oil - Formulated w/ vitamin E and all natural essential oils. What I love about this is the application, a nifty roller ball, and it’s not messy or greasy to use… even Lizzy can do it all by herself!
Julep Nail Colors in:
Julep Nail Appliques - Peacock colorful nail appliques that look like spotted peacock feathers
…and an extra special treat for us, Julep chocolate coins! Lizzy was so happy about these since we looked for them for St. Patty’s day.
DO THE MATH!
Here’s the $ breakdown of this box!
file= $ 6
handcream= $ 28
cuticle oil= $ 18
nailpolish 3 @ $14 each = $42
GRAND TOTAL = $108
not too shabby! I got it all for just $19.99

I posted on my pinterest a new board of lizzy’s beauty picks - sure she may not be an expert, but my ALMOST 5 year old knows what she likes!!
In March, many of our subscribers opted in to receive a special Teen Vogue Birchbox, filled with items picked by the magazine’s beauty editor, Eva Chen. Our members were psyched to try party-ready products like Peter Thomas Roth Max Anti-Shine Mattifying Gel and Fresh Sugar Rose Lip Treatment. Now we’re giving you a chance to snag one of these blockbuster boxes. For our Birchbox + Teen Vogue Giveaway, we’ve got 100 boxes up for grabs and you have three ways to enter to win:
Who got her nails done tonight? LIZZY!
Here’s the BirchBox March 2012 nail color from Color Club. The color is called “He Loves Me” which is a pretty pink color. It’s a pink cream color, pretty and not quite bubble gum. It reminds me of Minnie Mouse - it so happens that Lizzy is wearing her Minnie Mouse PJ’s and the color matches perfectly!
I used the OPI base coat and 2 coats of the Color Club “He Loves Me” nail polish followed by a top coat. The polish went on pretty easily, and 2 coats does the trick. Since Lizzy has little fingers, the small brush was easy to use on her!
For $10 a month - shipping included- you can get in on the BirchBox fun by following my referral link http://www.birchbox.com?raf=i7x7z
